Path of Totality Through  Argentina

I consider that as an amateur astronomer interested in observing this total solar eclipse you want to look for a place as far west as possible to ensure that the Sun is higher in the sky, thus being able to see as much as possible of the phases of this shocking astronomical phenomenon. The eclipse could be seen from any place where you can go (within the path of totality of course). You can have an adventure by reaching far away sites driving a 4x4 pick up. On the other hand, you have places with easy access and not far from cities or small towns.

The eclipse will occur in winter time, so routes in the middle of the Andes, between Argentina and Chile, are sometimes closed because of snow storms. Unless you can board flights between both countries, be sure to have a clear idea of from where to observe the eclipse. It could not be easy to drive across the mountain range to reach places.

Here is a list of some of that places, from the dry regions of West Argentina,  near Los Andes mountains, to the green and more humid plains in the eastern side of the country:

The last solar eclipse (actually an annular eclipse) in Argentina took place last February 26, 2017 from middle Patagonia. Watch and enjoy  the video of that astronomical phenomenon.
