The big city of Buenos Aires misses the totality just for a few miles as you can see on the picture to the left. However, there are several small towns not far from the big Buenos Aires to observe the eclipse from (e.g. Lobos, Chivilcoy, Chacabuco, Junin). These towns are situated close to the central line of the path of totality warranting a longer duration of the eclipse which here lasts about...

One of the pros of Buenos Aires is the International airport EZE that makes easy to fly up to that city and drive just xxxxx hours to observe the totality. Even from the area of the airport the totality is visible but just for 53 seconds because it is very close to the north end of the path.

The bad news for these places is that the Sun will be almost setting on the West horizon, so an unobstructed horizon is necessary beyond clear skies of course to see the phenomenon. For example, from Ezeiza the Sun will be just 1 degree above the horizon at the moment of the short totality.

So, if for any reason you are in Buenos Aires area at the moment of the eclipse, try to move as West as possible. Junin for example, about 3 hours 15 minutes driving to the West (see google map) is a good option, with the Sun at only 3 degrees above the horizon but higher than other small towns closer to Buenos Aires where the Sun will be only 1 degree.
