Eclipse in Chile

Versiòn en Español

LA SERENA - VICUÑA

City of La Serena

The beautiful city of La Serena, in Chile, will see more than 2 minutes of totality. Because it is more to the west, the entire eclipse will be visible from there with the phenomenon finishing when the Sun sets in the Pacific Ocean.

The central line of the path of totality lies 54kms north of La Serena, at geographical coordinates Lat.: 29.5361° S Long.: 71.2392° W, so you need to drive for 40 minutes by Route 5 North to find the spot which is situated close to "La Higuera". If you are in the right place, totality will last up to 2minutes 36.1 seconds.
