Path of Totality Across Chile

​

Totality will move across the region of Coquimbo and La Serena in the central coast of Chile. It will also sweep the region of some of the biggest observatories, like the Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory and Cerro Pachòn (see Google maps).

 

The eclipse will occur in winter time, so routes across the mountains between Chile and Argentina can be affected by snow storms and be closed (even for several days). Be sure to have your trip organized and a clear idea about from where to watch the eclipse because to move from one site to another one on the other side of the mountain range can be very difficult or even impossible unless you have flight tickets with you.
